Copy trading is the feature most people reach for first on a Telegram trading bot, and we covered it in the PepeBoost copy trading guide. But mirroring another wallet’s trades automatically has a real cost: you inherit their timing, their position sizing and their mistakes, often a few seconds late. A wallet watchlist is the more controlled alternative. You track what interesting wallets are doing, get alerted, and decide for yourself whether to act.

Why a watchlist beats blind copying for most traders

Automatic copying works best when the wallet you follow trades slowly and in liquid tokens. On fast Solana meme coins, the wallet you are copying often gets in at a much better price than you do, and your copied buy can become their exit liquidity. A watchlist removes that problem because nothing executes until you decide it should. It also lets you track many more wallets than you would ever trust with automatic execution, which gives you a wider view of where attention is moving.

Setting up wallet tracking in PepeBoost

Inside the bot, wallet tracking lives alongside the copy trade settings. The general flow is:

1. Open the bot through the official link and go to the wallet monitoring or copy trade menu.
2. Add a wallet address you want to watch and give it a clear label, such as “early launch buyer” or “slow swing wallet”.
3. Choose alert-only mode rather than automatic buying, so the bot notifies you of trades without executing them.
4. Set minimum trade size filters so you are not pinged for every tiny test transaction.

Finding wallets worth tracking

The quality of a watchlist depends entirely on the wallets in it. Good candidates share a few traits. They have a long history rather than one lucky trade. Their wins are spread across many tokens instead of a single outlier. Their position sizes are consistent. They exit, not just enter, which shows discipline. Solana explorers and portfolio trackers let you check a wallet’s history before you add it. Be wary of wallets promoted in Telegram groups or on X as “the smart money wallet”. By the time a wallet is widely shared, its alpha is usually gone, and some are promoted specifically so their owners can sell into followers.

Filtering the noise

A watchlist of fifty wallets without filters becomes an alert firehose within a day. Three filters keep it useful. First, a minimum buy size, so only meaningful positions trigger an alert. Second, a cluster rule you apply yourself: one tracked wallet buying a token is a data point, but three or four unrelated tracked wallets buying the same token within a short window is a much stronger signal. Third, a token safety check before acting on any alert, using the process from our honeypot and rug pull guide.

Turning an alert into a decision

When an alert fires, run the same short routine every time. Check liquidity and holder concentration. Check whether the tracked wallet is buying early or late relative to the token’s move. Decide your position size before you click, and set an exit plan straight away using limit orders and auto-sell. If any of those steps feels rushed, skip the trade. Missing one token costs nothing. Chasing late entries is how most meme coin traders bleed out.

Pruning the list

Review your watchlist every couple of weeks. Wallets go cold, change strategy, or turn out to be bots whose trades do not translate to a human reaction time. Remove anything that has not produced useful alerts. A tight list of ten reliable wallets beats a sprawling list of fifty. When you are ready to add new ones, PepeBoost makes it quick to swap addresses in and out.

Common questions

Does tracking a wallet cost anything? Monitoring itself does not execute trades, so there are no trade fees until you act. Standard trading fees apply when you buy or sell.

Can a tracked wallet see that I am following it? No. Tracking reads public onchain data. The wallet owner has no way to know.

Should I move to copy trading once a wallet proves itself? Only if it trades slowly enough that your delay does not matter. For fast launch traders, alerts and manual decisions usually work better. Get started with PepeBoost here.
